About Us

The Stewardship of Life Institute, founded in 1994, is headquartered at the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg, Gettysburg, Pa. The Institute's mission is to serve stewardship in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America through its seminaries.

The Institute carries on the vision and work of its founder and benefactor, the late Arthur L. Larson, who died in 2000.The institute is a nonprofit corporation with 501(c)(3) status, which enables it to receive tax-deductible charitable contributions.  I Have Something That Belongs To You is the current program offering of the institute.

The executive director of the Stewardship of Life Institute is the Rev. Dr. William Avery, who is also the Arthur L. Larson Professor of Stewardship and Parish Ministry at the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg.
